Breaking: Positive Resolution Reached in KATH Doctors, Nurses Strike Dispute

A positive resolution has been reached following a crunch meeting aimed at resolving the ongoing strike by doctors, nurses, and midwives at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene says an agreement was reached after discussions with the leadership of the various health professional associations.
The strike was triggered following the suspension of the hospital's Chief Executive Officer after a directive to temporarily halt new admissions at the Accident and Emergency Unit due to congestion.
Dr. Amoakohene added that further measures are being considered to ease pressure on KATH, including plans to operationalise the Afari, Trede, Oforikrom, and Sewua hospitals.
He noted that the leadership of the associations will consult their members and communicate the final decision soon.
