The late Justice Kwame Afreh has been posthumously honoured with the Promotion of Press Freedom Award at the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) World Press Freedom Day 2026 Honours Night held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
The award recognises his contributions to the advancement and protection of press freedom in Ghana.
The ceremony brought together media professionals, dignitaries, and stakeholders to celebrate individuals and institutions that have played key roles in strengthening journalism and democratic accountability.
Organisers say the honour reflects the enduring impact of Justice Afreh's legacy on Ghana's media landscape.
