Engineering Council Pushes for Licensed Architects & Strict Site Monitoring | Sunday Breakfast

Registrar of the Engineering Council, Isaac Bedu, has urged Ghanaians to employ only licensed architects when undertaking construction projects.

He also called on Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to ensure that building plans and designs are thoroughly scrutinised before permits are issued.

Ing. Bedu further stressed the need for continuous monitoring of ongoing construction projects to ensure the use of approved materials and adherence to safety standards.

His remarks come in the wake of recent building collapses, including the Avenor incident in Accra, which has raised renewed concerns about construction safety and regulatory enforcement.
