Assemblyman for the Avenor Electoral Area and President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), Alfred Asiedu Adjei, has criticised what he describes as a delayed response in deploying DRIP equipment during rescue efforts at the Avenor building collapse site.
He said Ghana's response to emergency situations remains inadequate, adding that the timing of intervention efforts could impact rescue outcomes.
His comments come in the wake of the building collapse that has so far claimed two lives, with rescue operations still ongoing at the scene.
Authorities continue to work to clear debris and account for all persons believed to be trapped.
