The cradle of soccer: Rosario, Argentina and the birthplace of champions
Rosario, Argentina, is a city a few hours north of Buenos Aires, with a population of around one million. It is home to one of the fiercest rivalries in Argentine club football. It is also the hometown of Lionel Messi, Argentina's team captain, and Angel Di Maria, as well as a school dedicated to training some of the world's top football coaches.
"Our school is called 'Cradle of Football'. This city has produced great footballers and some of the best in the world. And just 250 kilometers away is Buenos Aires, where Diego Maradona was born, while Lionel Messi was born in Rosario. Some of the best footballers in the world come from that strip between the two cities. Our school uses that talent for players and coaches too," said Enrique Borrelli, director of the school.
