Ghanaian Evacuee Narrates Brutal Xenophobic Attack in South Africa 🇬🇭✈️ | Stabbed With Screwdrivers
A Ghanaian evacuee repatriated from South Africa has recounted a terrifying experience in which he was attacked by a group of thugs and stabbed with screwdrivers.
Speaking after his arrival at the Accra International Airport, he described the violent incident as part of the rising insecurity faced by foreign nationals amid recent xenophobic tensions and anti-migrant protests in South Africa.
The evacuees have been brought back home through a government-coordinated evacuation exercise led by Ghana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supported by relevant state agencies.
Authorities say returnees will receive medical attention, relief support, and psychosocial assistance as part of reintegration efforts.
