'They attacked you but they couldn't break you' Ablakwa inspires Ghanaian evacuees from South Africa

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has delivered an emotional message to Ghanaian evacuees returning from South Africa following xenophobic attacks and anti-migrant violence.

Speaking at the Accra International Airport, the Minister praised the resilience of the returnees, telling them that despite the trauma and dehumanisation they experienced, they have emerged stronger.

The evacuees are part of a government-coordinated repatriation exercise following rising tensions in South Africa that affected several African nationals, including Ghanaians.

Officials say the returnees will be supported with medical care, relief items, and psychosocial assistance to aid their reintegration into society.
