The cradle of soccer: Rosario, Argentina and the birthplace of champions
Rosario, Argentina, is a city that's a few hours north of Buenos Aires. It's home to around a million. It's home to one of the most fierce rivales in club football in Argentina. But it's also the hometown to Lionel Messi, the Argentina team captain, and Ángel Di María, as well as a school dedicated to training the world's top soccer coaches.
“Our school is called 'Cradle of Football'. This city has given us great footballers and some of the best in the world. And just 250 kilometers apart is where Diego Maradona was born in Buenos Aires, and Lionel Messi in Rosario. Some of the best footballers in the world come from that strip between the two cities. Our school uses that talent for players and coaches too,” said Enrique Borreli, director of the school.
