Accra International Airport prepped for second batch of Ghanaian evacuees from South Africa 🇬🇭✈️

Relief preparations are underway at the Accra International Airport as Ghana prepares to receive the second batch of citizens evacuated from South Africa following recent xenophobic attacks and anti-migrant protests.

Deputy Director-General of NADMO, Albert Akuka Alalzuuga, inspected relief items being readied for the returnees and encouraged officials at the airport to warmly receive the Ghanaian nationals upon arrival.

The airport has also been prepped for the arrival of top government officials expected to welcome the evacuees home as part of ongoing government-led repatriation efforts.

This follows continued tensions in South Africa, which have prompted coordinated evacuation exercises to ensure the safety of affected Ghanaian citizens.
