Residents of Church Village near the P.V. Obeng Roundabout in Tema Community 5 are counting their losses after heavy rainfall flooded parts of the area, submerging homes and destroying personal belongings.

The flooding followed several days of continuous rain, with residents attributing the situation to poor drainage systems and the release of excess water from a nearby dam.

Affected residents say the incident has left families displaced and property damaged, raising renewed concerns about urban drainage challenges and flood prevention in the Tema enclave.

Authorities are being urged to address the drainage issues to prevent a recurrence of such disasters during heavy rainfall periods.
