Samuel Nartey George has called on Parliament to formally transmit the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill to President John Dramani Mahama for consideration, following its passage by the House.
He argues that the Constitution does not permit a fresh debate on a bill that has already been passed, insisting that the legislative process must move forward. His comments come after Speaker Alban Bagbin directed Parliament to reconsider the bill.
In a separate comment, Sam George also addressed issues relating to SIM registration and CIR platform procurement processes, stating they are ongoing and expected to be completed by the end of the year.
He further advised that Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin should file a formal complaint if he believes his X (formerly Twitter) account was compromised, so investigations can be conducted.
Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Denis Miracles Aboagye stated that former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not sign the Anti-LGBTQ bill due to legal processes, emphasizing that attention should remain on constitutional procedures rather than political blame.
