The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has condemned the physical assault of a senior staff midwife at the Community 22 Polyclinic in Tema by relatives of a patient.
A viral video of the incident, which shows a man assaulting a nurse, has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns about the safety of healthcare workers in Ghana.
The Association is calling for urgent national measures to protect nurses and midwives from workplace violence and ensure safer working environments in health facilities.
The President of the GRNMA, Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, condemned the incident and said the association will follow through the court proceedings till justice is served.
Authorities are being urged to investigate the matter and enforce strict measures to deter future attacks on health workers.
