Several communities in Winneba in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region have been affected by flooding, leaving hundreds of residents distressed.

The flooding, which has occurred for the fifth time in the last five years, has been attributed to the heavy flow of the estuary of the Muni Lagoon.

Residents say the recurring floods continue to disrupt livelihoods, damage property, and raise concerns about the need for long-term drainage and coastal management solutions.

Authorities are being urged to implement sustainable interventions to address the persistent flooding challenges in the area.
