Christian Council to Review Amended Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill Over New Exemptions

The Christian Council of Ghana says it will officially write to the Clerk of Parliament to obtain a copy of the amended Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill for review by its legal team.
According to the Council, it played a key role in the development of the original bill, and any exemptions introduced in the amended version must be carefully examined and interpreted.
Speaking at the launch of the Voice of the Christian Council of Ghana, the Chairman of the Ecumenical Convention Planning Committee, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, said the Council will issue its official position on the exemptions after receiving legal advice.
The development adds another layer to ongoing national discussions around the scope and interpretation of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill.
