Israel expands occupation in southern Lebanon; more than 1.2 million displaced

Southern Lebanon has become an active combat zone as Israeli air strikes, artillery and ground operations hit cities such as Nabatieh, Tyre and Bint Jbeil.

Bridges including the Qasimeyh crossing between Tyre and Sidon have been destroyed, while forces have pushed to the Litani River and captured Beaufort Castle.
