Communications Minister, Sam George has proposed a policy that would require individuals to present a National Identity Card or Driver's Licence before accessing pornographic websites.

According to the minister, the proposal forms part of broader efforts to strengthen online child protection measures and prevent minors from accessing adult content on the internet.

The proposed system would introduce age-verification requirements aimed at ensuring that only eligible adults can access such websites.

The proposal is expected to generate discussions around digital privacy, online regulation, child safety, and the practical implementation of age-verification systems in Ghana.
