The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has proposed a policy that would require individuals to present a National Identity Card or Driver's Licence before accessing pornographic websites.

The proposal is aimed at preventing minors from accessing sexually explicit content online and strengthening child protection measures in the digital space.

Speaking at the 4th Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Family, Values and Sovereignty, he explained that similar measures are being implemented in countries such as the United Kingdom to regulate access to adult content.

He stressed the importance of safeguarding children across Africa from early exposure to harmful online material and called for stronger digital regulation frameworks.
