The Tamale Metropolitan Director of Education, Nelson Konlanm, has disclosed that schools within the metropolis are currently facing about a 90 percent furniture deficit, a situation he says is seriously affecting effective teaching and learning.

He explained that the shortage of desks and chairs is placing significant strain on classroom activities, making it difficult for students and teachers to operate effectively.

According to him, recent interventions such as furniture donations will help reduce the deficit and improve learning conditions across affected schools.

The situation highlights ongoing infrastructure challenges within the education sector and the need for sustained investment to support quality learning outcomes.
