Sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah has moved up to third on Ghana's all-time 100 metres rankings after recording a new personal best time of 9.92 seconds.

Amoah achieved the milestone after winning the men's 100 metres event at the Royal City Inferno meet in Ontario, Canada, as he continues preparations to represent Ghana at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

The performance marks a strong comeback for the veteran sprinter following his fifth-place finish in the men's 200 metres at the recently concluded African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra.

He now sits third on Ghana's all-time list behind Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, who holds the national record with 9.84 seconds, and Benjamin Azamati, who ranks second with 9.90 seconds.
