Tamale Assembly Invests GH₵1.4 Million to Tackle School Furniture Deficit

The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has invested GH₵1.4 million, representing 10 percent of its 2025 District Assemblies Common Fund allocation, to address the growing furniture deficit in schools across the metropolis.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony of 1,170 dual desks to 29 schools, the Mayor of Tamale, Abu Takoro, said the intervention is aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions for students and teachers.

He assured residents that the Assembly would continue investing in educational infrastructure and furniture until the deficit is fully eliminated.

The Mayor also outlined plans for the distribution of additional furniture to Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools in the coming days, as part of efforts to enhance the learning environment across the metropolis.
