China points to irony behind Five Eyes' spy allegations #worldnow

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Thursday that it was "ironic" for the Five Eyes – an intelligence alliance that spies on the world – to lay blame at China's door. She was responding to reports that the group, comprising Britain, the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, accused China of using bogus job ads to recruit Western security clearance holders, offering thousands of dollars for state secrets.
