Cuba's fuel crisis leaves rubbish piling up on Havana's streets
Cuba's ongoing energy crisis is disrupting state-run rubbish collection, leaving waste to accumulate on the streets of Havana. Pavements have become dumping grounds, raising serious public health and sanitation concerns. Some residents have responded by launching grassroots clean-up initiatives, collecting and repurposing household waste to keep their neighbourhoods safe.
