Eleven years after the June 3 disaster, survivors are renewing calls for stronger flood prevention measures and sustained support for victims.

The tragic incident, which occurred after severe flooding and a fuel station explosion near the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra, claimed more than 150 lives and left many others injured.

Survivors and advocacy groups say more needs to be done to improve drainage infrastructure, enforce urban planning regulations, and provide long-term support for affected families.

The commemoration has once again sparked national reflection on disaster preparedness and urban safety in Ghana.
