For the second consecutive month, inflation in Ghana has recorded a slight increase, rising to 3.7% in May 2026 from 3.4% in April 2026.

Despite the uptick, overall price pressures remain significantly lower compared to the same period last year, suggesting continued stabilization in the broader economy.

Government Statistician, Alhassan Iddrisu, provided the highlights of the latest inflation data at a news conference, noting the latest movements in price levels.

The development reflects a mild pickup in inflationary pressures after months of relative decline, even as policymakers monitor trends in food, transport, and utility costs.
