Ghana Chamber of Mines Welcomes Govt Assurance on No Mine Nationalisation Policy

The Ghana Chamber of Mines has welcomed assurances from the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources that government has no intention of pursuing a policy of nationalisation of mines.
According to the Chamber, the clarification reinforces Ghana's long-standing commitment to maintaining a stable and investment-friendly environment in the mining sector, especially at a time of increased public debate over mining lease renewals.
Speaking at the 19th edition of the West African Mining and Power Expo (WAMPEX), Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber, Ing. Ken Ashigbey, said the remarks are important in strengthening investor confidence and sustaining growth in the sector.
He also used the platform to condemn recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa, calling for respect for human dignity and peaceful coexistence across the continent.
