KATH Pushes for Afari & Sewua Hospitals to Ease Pressure on Emergency Unit

Acting Medical Director of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Yaw Larbi, says the hospital is expanding collaboration with other health facilities to improve emergency care delivery.

He explained that facilities with adequate equipment but lacking specialist personnel will now work closely with KATH specialists to manage emergency cases more effectively.

According to him, this partnership is part of a broader strategy to decongest the hospital's Accident and Emergency Centre and improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Larbi also called for the urgent operationalisation of the Afari and Sewua hospitals, stressing that their full functionality would significantly reduce pressure on KATH, which currently serves as the region's only major tertiary referral facility.
