The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has emphasized that cultural sovereignty must be reinforced by strong economic sovereignty to protect nations from undue external influence.

According to him, a truly sovereign state must have the capacity to finance its own development agenda, ensure food security, and provide quality education for its citizens.

Delivering an address on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the 4th African Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Family, Sovereignty and Values, he stressed the importance of building resilient economies capable of sustaining national values and social systems.

He added that economic independence is central to safeguarding sovereignty in an increasingly interconnected global environment.
