'We're only powerful when we unite as one': Teachers speak out at NJ ICE facility

“When they set up a group of people as inhuman, as worthy of inhuman treatment, it is not long before it's someone else.”

Protests continue near Delaney Hall, an ICE Immigration detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, facing allegations of poor conditions. MS Now's Maya Eaglin spoke to a group of teachers who joined demonstrations on Sunday to hear more about why they wanted to protest.

Elected officials, lawyers and activists are demanding a full inspection of the building and better conditions for those inside. "There is no hunger strike at Delaney Hall. All detainees are provided with 3 meals a day. Meals are certified by dietitians," DHS said on their website.
