Gbetsile Residents Protest Over Months of Water Shortage, Petition Ghana Water

Residents of Gbetsile and adjoining communities, including Apolonia and Kakasunanka, have petitioned the Gbetsile District Office of Ghana Water Limited following a protest over months of persistent water shortages in the area.
According to residents, the situation has severely affected livelihoods, disrupted businesses, and raised serious public health concerns. They also allege that the crisis contributed to the tragic death of a six-year-old child who drowned while attempting to fetch water from a septic tank.
During the presentation of the petition, opinion leader and protest leader Joseph Sackey called on the Minister for Works and Housing to urgently intervene and address the ongoing water supply challenges.
The community is demanding immediate action to restore reliable water supply and prevent further loss of life.
