Hundreds of residents have been displaced after Ghana Water Limited opened spill gates due to rising water levels, a measure the utility says was necessary to protect the structural integrity of the dam.

Several homes and shops have been submerged, forcing residents to move their belongings to safer locations as floodwaters continue to rise.

In some areas, canoes have become the only means of transportation, while schools and businesses remain closed due to the flooding.

Residents are appealing for urgent government intervention, relief support, and long-term solutions to prevent future disasters.
