Ablekuma West MCE Warns: Illegal Structures in Densu Delta to Be Demolished

The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly has denied issuing permits for construction within the Densu Delta Ramsar site.
Speaking during a tour of the area, the Municipal Chief Executive, George Kpakpo Allotey, warned that all structures obstructing waterways at Otojor will be demolished as part of efforts to address flooding and restore natural drainage systems.
He stressed that developments within protected wetlands were not authorised and urged residents to avoid illegal construction in flood-prone areas.
Authorities say enforcement actions will be intensified to prevent further encroachment and reduce flooding risks in the municipality.
