The dying Dead Sea: a man-made disaster

The Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, is dying. The intensely salty body of water - a huge tourist draw - has been shrinking at a rate of about four feet annually for decades. The causes: climate change-driven heat and man-made mining. The Dead Sea's slow demise is denting tourism, causing sinkholes and opening fissures in underground rocks.
