Awutu Senya East Moves Against Street Livestock Trading at Bus Stops and Highways

The Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly has unleashed a taskforce to clamp down on livestock sales at unapproved locations.

This follows a disregard of earlier warnings issued to livestock traders by the Assembly, prompting enforcement action across key areas.

The taskforce visited locations including Iron City/Ngleshie Amanfro bus stops on the N1 Highway, Obomu Junction, the Bawjiase stretch, and other points along the highway where traders were found openly displaying animals such as goats, sheep, and cattle.

The NADMO Director for Awutu Senya East, Nash Nyandey, who led the operation, cautioned that future enforcement exercises will include seizure of animals and the imposition of fines on offenders.

Authorities say the move is aimed at ensuring public safety, sanitation, and proper regulation of trading activities within the municipality.
