Albert Siaw-Boateng has emphasised the importance of the ECOWAS National Biometric Identity Card in promoting safe and secure movement across the West African sub-region.

Speaking at a workshop in Accra on the implementation of the ECOWAS biometric ID system, he noted that the card will strengthen identity management, improve border security, and enhance regional integration among member states.

He explained that the initiative is part of broader efforts to facilitate free movement of persons while ensuring security and efficient migration management across ECOWAS countries.

The programme is expected to modernise identity verification systems and support cross-border cooperation within the sub-region.
