U.S. Federal Reserve Chair to end eight-year term
U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's eight-year term ends this week, but unlike most of his predecessors he will stay on as a governor of the central bank. During Powell's tenure, a global pandemic spiked unemployment, inflation soared higher than it's been in 40 years, and U.S. President Donald Trump tried to undermine the Fed's independence.
