Trump administration foreign aid cuts are having an impact on maternal health in Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone had reduced its maternal mortality by nearly 80 percent since 2000. That process is now in danger as the country grapples with the lack of international funding including from the United States, which cut aid in 2025.
