US signals new Iran talks as ceasefire holds and tensions persist in Strait of Hormuz
The United States says a new round of negotiations with Iran could take place within days, according to President Donald Trump. Pakistan has reportedly offered to host the talks again after recent discussions in Islamabad failed to produce a breakthrough.
Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance says the current ceasefire is holding and described recent negotiations as constructive, despite decades of mistrust between the two sides. He added that the US is seeking a broader agreement, including limits on Iran's nuclear ambitions, in exchange for economic normalization.
