Asokwa Interchange Artworks Defaced: Police Launch Manhunt

Police in Asokwa, Ashanti Region, are on a manhunt for vandals who defaced artworks created by Visual Arts students at the Asokwa Interchange.
The artworks were part of the AshantiFest 2026 celebrations, spearheaded by Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene. Officials, including the Municipal Chief Executive Amo Kamel, described the act as unfortunate and referred to the culprits as “nation wreckers.”
Security agencies are reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. The Ashanti Regional Minister also condemned the incident and accused elements within the New Patriotic Party of being behind the defacement.
