Senegal to appeal after CAF strips AFCON title and awards win to Morocco
Senegal's government has called for an independent investigation into suspected corruption at CAF after the Confederation of African Football stripped the country of its Africa Cup of Nations title and awarded it to runners-up Morocco. The unprecedented ruling followed Senegal's walk-off during January's final in Rabat, when most players left the pitch for 17 minutes after Morocco were awarded a late penalty. Senegal's Football Federation has condemned the decision as unacceptable, whilst Morocco's FA says it was simply ensuring rules were applied. Senegal have confirmed they will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
