Iran’s Araghchi says understanding on main principles reached with US

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says his country is on the path to an agreement with the US. Both sides have been holding negotiations over Iran's nuclear programme in Geneva against the backdrop of increased military pressure. Araghchi and US envoy Steve Witkoff attended the talks, mediated by Oman. Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened military action, first over Iran's deadly crackdown on antigovernment protests and more recently, over its nuclear programme. Araghchi spoke just after those talks concluded in a positive tone.

Al Jazeera correspondents are covering the latest developments: Osama Bin Javaid is in Geneva, Tohid Asadi is in Tehran and Kimberly Halkett is standing by at the White House.
