'Bondi hero' praised for disarming gunman during Sydney mass shooting
A man caught on camera grabbing a gun from one of the suspects has been hailed as a hero. A video shows Syrian-born Ahmed al-Ahmed creeping up behind the shooter and seizing the rifle. The 43-year-old fruit vendor suffered gunshot wounds during the encounter. The state's premier, Chris Minns, has described the act as unbelievable, saving countless lives. A fundraising page for him has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars. The parents of the man say their son makes them very proud.
