Minority slams NDC MPs for absenteeism, says Majority neglecting duties as Parliament lacks quorum
Absentee Majority” - The Minority in Parliament has accused the NDC MPs of engaging in dereliction of duty as the House grapples with low attendance in the face of regular cautions by the Speaker.
Despite commanding a two-thirds Majority, the Minority says their colleagues are failing to take the legislative work seriously.
MP for Damongo, Samuel Jinapor, told journalists the excuse that some of the NDC MPs are ministers is flawed and must not be countenanced.
The House was on a brink of adjournment on Thursday when it fell short of the mandatory one-third quorum of 92 members to commence business, following an earlier warning by the Speaker to sanction habitual absentee members.
