European Commission proposes far-reaching sanctions on Israel | DW News

The European Commission is proposing far-reaching sanctions on Israel, in response to Israel's war in the Gaza Strip and other actions against Palestinians.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced plans to suspend free-trade arrangements on Israeli goods, even though the measure doesn't have sufficient support among EU member states to pass. Kallas also proposed a package of sanctions that would target two Israeli government ministers, as well as violent Israeli settlers and 10 Hamas officials.
