Why are there so few women in the German Army? | DW News

Countries worldwide are strengthening their armies, but women are still widely underrepresented. Germany is no exception. As of today, roughly 13% of German soldiers are female. Most of them work in the medical service. That's relatively low compared to other Western countries. In the US it's 20%; same for the Ukraine. In Israel 34% of soldiers are women.
