Yazidi New Year: Red Wednesday celebrations haunted by memories of exile, kidnapping

This Wednesday, Yazidis from around the world celebrated Red Wednesday, the Yazidi new year. In Iraq, thousands of people gathered in the temple of Lalesh, in Northern Iraq. Although, this year's celebrations were also marking the beginning of the 10th year after the genocide, as recognized by the UN, of the yazidi population by the Islamic State in 2014.
