War in Sudan: UNHCR's Filippo Grandi speaks to France 24

It's been a year since the start of the war in Sudan, which has pushed the country to the brink of famine. With that in mind, an international conference, involving top diplomats and aid groups, was held in Paris on Monday with the aim of drumming up support for the Sudanese people. Speaking there, President Emmanuel Macron said that donors had pledged more than €2 billion in aid. More than 8.5 million people have been forced to flee their homes there creating the world's largest displacement crisis. Tom Burges Watson speaks to UNHCR High Commissioner Filippo Grandi, who was at the donors' conference, about the humanitarian emergency in Sudan and the challenges of delivering aid in a war zone. Filippo Grandi also made remarks about the situation in Gaza, saying that an Israeli offensive in Rafah could provoke a renewed refugee crisis, which would be "the nail in the coffin" of any peace process.
