Thai parliament votes to legalise same-sex marriage bill in ‘huge step forward’

Thailand's parliament passed a same-sex marriage bill in a landslide vote on Wednesday, paving the way for the nation to become the first in Southeast Asia to recognise marriage equality. Speaking to France 24, Human Rights Watch's deputy Asia director Phil Robertson hailed the move as a “huge step forward” for equality in not just Thailand but the whole region.
