Poverty in South Africa: Many families await better living conditions in Eastern Cape

Former South African President Nelson Mandela is just one of many prominent politicians born in the province of Eastern Cape. Still, it is one of the poorest parts of the country. It has been 30 years since the end of apartheid, and many families are still waiting for the conditions to improve.
