Putin’s atomic weapons plan: Is the nuclear risk rising? | To the Point

President Vladimir Putin's announcement that he plans to station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus has raised concerns about further escalation. This is the first time since the 1990s that Russia will deploy arms outside of its borders. Russian forces have had little success in their aggressive campaign in Ukraine, which has increased fears in Europe that the Russian president may resort to nuclear weapons out of desperation. Meanwhile, the West has supplied Ukraine with modern battle tanks that could be used in a possible spring offensive. So we ask, Putin's atomic weapons plan: Is the nuclear risk rising?
