A quarter of world population doesn't have access to safe drinking water | DW News

A new UN report has revealed the scale of water scarcity across the globe. According to the report, the global consumption of water has increased by about 1% every year over the past four decades "and is expected to grow at a similar rate through to 2050, driven by a combination of population growth, socio-economic development and changing consumption patterns." A quarter of world population doesn't have access to safe drinking water and 46% lacks access to basic sanitation.
